This blog is a place to share parts of my world with the rest of the world. Home is a small farm on an island in WA state. Farming and homesteading are a culture and life that I was born into, walked away from, and came back to. Working with animals and land is generationally a part of my family and heritage. I was born in Montana in a small Amish community. My family comes from generations of Amish, and although my parents left that culture and religion when I was in 1st grade, the foundation of a simple life, based at home, has always been a part of who I am. My grandparents were dairy farmers and horse farmers. They lived a life of self-sufficiency and independence from modern conveniences and culture. My life looks different in many ways, but in other ways it has shaped who I am and how I live. Holding on to wisdom from previous generations and sharing it with others is a passion of mine and has led to where I am now. I look forward to sharing and learning with all of you.
